She is married to Keith Hilburn and has two children Kinley (15), and Weston (13). Sonja and her family are members of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Sonja is a lifelong resident of Bladenboro and graduated from Bladenboro High School in 1994. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from UNCW, her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Western Governor’s University, and post master certificate from Walsh University. Sonja spent her 20+ years of nursing in Quality & Emergency Services area as Staff RN, Quality Coordinator, Manager & Director at Southeastern Regional Medical Center/UNC Southeastern. Sonja is passionate and determined to put her patient’s and patient’s families first, as well as making a positive impact on her community. She is very dedicated to patient care, and is ready to make a difference in OUR community.

Kenneth E. Locklear, MD, CMD

Supervising Physician

Dr. Kenneth Locklear has been practicing Family Medicine since 1982. He graduated UNC Chapel Hill Medical School in 1979. After completing his residency at Moses Cone Hospital in 1982 he returned to Robeson County. Robeson Family Practice opened it doors in Red Springs the same year. Dr. Locklear is a member of American Medical Association and is AMDA certified through The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, in which he maintains active membership. He has privileges at Bladen County Hospital. Dr. Locklear is currently Medical Director for Liberty Hospice serving Bladen, Columbus and Robeson Counties. Since 2007 he has participated in medical missions providing healthcare to Philippine villages. Dr. Locklear enjoys traveling, spending time with family and is an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mike Wilkinson, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Dermatology Nurse Practitioner

Mike Wilkinson, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC is a native of Longview, TX and he has been a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner for the last 16 years. Prior to dermatology, Mike worked in Emergency medicine for years. The navy selected Mike to be in a nursing program, and he graduated from University of Texas at Arlington in 1993. At Naval Officer Indoctrination School Mike was the #1 Graduate of 187 personnel. He spent many different tours with the Navy overseas and stateside working as a Nurse in Orthopedics, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and Operational Medicine. At his last command, Mike was a department head and oversaw all the outpatient clinics at the hospital at NAS Corpus Christi. While Mike was working fulltime, he was in a master’s degree program as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Texas A&M. He was the #1 Graduate of a class of over 100. He retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 23 years of military service, and his highest award was the Meritorious Service Medal. He started working in Emergency medicine in Texas and transferred to North Carolina when his daughter started college at UNC Chapel Hill in 2006. His passion became Dermatology, and in 2008 he accepted a one-year residency from a Dermatologist and that started his current career. He has worked in a variety of dermatology clinics since 2008. Over the last four years Mike has overseen the training of NPs and PAs in a 1-year residency program in Dermatology. Mike is married to his wife Michelle and, he has two grown daughters and 6 grandchildren. His hobbies are hunting, camping, and traveling.

Mike specializes in medical and surgical dermatology that includes the skin, hair, and nails. His passion is treating patients with skin cancers and difficult to treat rashes.

Natalie Russ, RN-BSN

Registered Nurse

She is married to Joseph Russ and has 2 boys, Aiden (14) and Keithan Russ (10). She is a lifelong resident of Bladenboro, NC and graduated from Bladenboro High Scholl in 1997. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from East Carolina University in 2001. Her nursing career consisted of working as a Staff Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, served as the first Nurse Recruiter, Practice Manager for the Primary Care Clinics in Bladen County, and Manager for the Emergency Room for Southeastern Regional Medical Center / UNC Health Southeastern over the past 20 years. Natalie loves to travel, watch movies, and finds joy from being with family and friends. She is an active member of Dublin First Baptist Church and assist with serving as a den leader for the Cub Scouts troop in Elizabethtown. Did we mention she loves to talk; has a caring smile to offer and a hug to share. Come and see her-she will brighten your day.
